Makena Coast Dive Charters Inc. has been an established charter business offering scuba diving on Maui for over 25 years. Our spacious, thirty-five-foot vesssel, the "Makena Mele" (Song of Makena) is a custom dive boat, able to carry up to 13 scuba divers. Our dive trips are led in small groups of 6 or 7 or less per group. No hidden fees or "fuel charges." The only additional cost is the 4.16% Hawaii State General Excise tax and the 3% Harbors fee. Tanks and weights are always included. We do not charge extra for the use of our masks and fins, however we always recommend you bring your own if you are comfortable with them. We offer two trips a day from the Kihei Boat Ramp: Morning Charters: Daily— Certified Divers (and accompanying snorkelers) Certified Divers with their own BC, Regulator and wetsuit Certified Divers needing BC, Regulator and wetsuit Snorkeling (includes equip) normally $120, Click here for INTERNET SPECIAL RATE Wednesday and Friday— Expedition Dive Days for more experienced scuba divers: Two-tanks. Expedition days offer a myriad options-Molokini Back Wall the Back Wall of Molokini, the 85 foot pinnacles, manta dives, exploring uncharted dive sites…maybe even Lanai or Molokai on special weather days (priced accordingly).Captain Steve Hogan will often be leading these expeditions. Accompanying snorkelers welcome. (It is possible to do the back wall on other days, so let us know if you have special requests.) Expedition Day Divers needing BC, Regulator and wetsuit Tuesday and Thursday—Family Day for introductory divers certified divers, and snorkelers. (It is possible to take intros on other days for parties of four or more.) Introductory Divers—Introductory Dives offer instruction, snorkeling at Molokini and a one-tank dive along the Makena Coast of Maui where the gren sea turtles live. PLEASE NOTE: Introductory Divers MUST be in good health with NO MEDICAL PROBLEMS, you can not be on ANY prescription medications (other than birth control) unless you have a doctor's note, you can not have asthma or any respiratory or heart issues and you can not be pregnant. It is MANDATORY that the diver be a comfortable swimmer and preferably a snorkeler. Introductory divers also must be fluent in English. Private Dive Charters ( 4 1/2 hours) $1500 (recently discounted from 1700!) Private Dive Charter to Lanai or Molokai (All day) $2400*. Trips to Lanai and Molokai are weather permitting schedule. * Holiday pricing may vary. |

COUPONS AND SPECIAL Discounts can only be used in conjunction with our normal rates, not the already discounted rates. Let us know if you have a coupon and we'll assist you in making sure you have the best price. Discounts only apply to direct bookings. NO HIDDEN FEES OR FUEL CHARGES: Hawaii has a 4.166% general excise tax and charges a 3% harbor fee to all boat activitities. Refreshments: Also included in our excursions— muffins are served in the morning and refreshments between dives. Reservations: It is recommended that you make advanced reservations since space is limited. Cancellation Policy: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy on individiual bookings and 72-hours on groups of 4 or more and private charters. This means that if you cancel outside of the 48- or 72-hour cancellation period, there is no charge. If you cancel inside of the cancellation period, there is a full charge unless we can replace you. All cancellations due to sickness insie of the cancellation period require a doctor's note from a local doctor. If you do not provide a doctor's note, we will charge you in full and give you a Space Available certificate for use in the future. "Space Available" means that you call us the night before you want to go, and if we have space available, you can come aboard at no further charge. In order to hold your spot on the boat, we will be turning away other divers and reserving our dive team's time. Last minute cancellatins effect several people and can cause entire charters to be cancelled. It is assumed that you have READ and AGREE to this policy. Giving of your credit card number to reserve your dive is solely to confirm your spot on the boat and to verify that you agree to this policy. Photo Package $65 includes photos of your dive as well as high quality stock photos of Hawaiian Sea Life shot by photographer, Benja Iglesis. T-Shirts — Makena Coast Dive Charters T-Shirts by WYLAND are available aboard. Ask the crew! A variety of colors and sizes available.$25—a portion of the prroceeds goes to support The Wyland Foundation. Underwater SCUBA WEDDINGS: Captain Hogan's "First Mate," Eve Eschner Hogan is a wedding officiant and can perform your wedding on the boat, underwater or on the beach! The Kihei Boat Ramp is located just 5-10 minutes from Wailea, 10-15 minutes from Makena, 15-20 minutes from Maalaea, 30 minutes from Kahului airport and harbor, 45 minutes to an hour from Lahaina, and an hour from Kaanapali. The benefit of that drive by car is that that the Kihei Boat Ramp is only a 20 minute boat ride to Molokini Crater.
